Bio
Bo Magnus graduated from Chelsea College of Arts in London in 2009, with a master's degree in Fine Art. After studying at Chelsea, she was admitted as 'Selected Artist 2009-2010' at The Florence Trust, London, and has since had a studio in the artist community Orpheus Street for two years. From 2013, Bo Magnus has lived and worked in Bergen, she has a studio in cs55 artist workshops.
In recent years, Magnus has been represented at exhibitions in England, Denmark, Poland, India and Norway, including at Kunsthall Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, the London Art Fair and the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in India.
Magnus uses plastic, readymades, canvas and blind frames. The material is an important part of Magnus' work, as it is in the break between her and her will that the opposite manifests itself. The pictures are painted in layers, the transparency between them opens up for insight and in the insight there are frictions.
Bo Magnus says:
'What triggers and motivates me - as a spectator and participant - is to be in an insistent renegotiation of the contemporary media flow, through an intuitive and poetic approach.'
